LOT 782 | A GROUP OF JADEITE CARVINGS
Starting at
One carved as a Buddha of the Mogao Caves in low-relief, of light green ground suffused with white patches and semi-translucency, the figure depicted with a serene smile, with its hair worn looped on top of the head, to the diamond-set surmount, mounted in 18K rose gold; and the other of matching color and translucency, carved as the auspicious creature 'Pixiu' crouching upon a sycee and a coin, symbolizing 'to deliver fortune, wealth and prosperity', to the jadeite hoop and red cord, Buddha measuring 29.46 x 19.19 x 9.73 mm, Pixiu measuring 22.47 x 36.14 x 13.66 mm (2)
Accompanied by two reports from the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory, stating that the pendants are natural jadeite and no resin is detected, report nos. SJ 62096 and SJ 62098, both dated 27th December 2012
